NIPPO VINI FANTINI EUROPA OVINI: BACK TO RACE IN ITALY, IT’S TIME FOR TOUR OF THE ALPS.

Damiano Cunego is the leader, yet winner of 3 edition and 6 stages in the past editions. Ivan Santaromita the experienced rider, Filippo Zaccanti and Nicola Bagioli the young Italian talents, Hideto Nakane the Japanese climber. Ito Masakazu and Joan Bou to complete the line-up that wants to obtain the best result as possibile in the race valid for the Ciclismo Cup.

Tour of the Alps.

5 stages, as usual all for climbers. A starting list of big names, with 9 World Tour teams preparing the Giro such as the Team Sky, the Italian National Selection and the Italian Professional teams, together with some International teams. Damiano Cunego will ride the prestigious race that he already won 3 times, winning also 6 stages in the past editions. With him an #OrangeBlue line-up composed mainly from good climbers. 

THE LINE-UP.

The Sports Directors Mario Manzoni and Alessandro Donati have selected a line-up of climbers. The #OrangeBlue riders have been training in altitude to prepare this important race, since from the end of March. The expected leaders will be Damiano Cunego and Ivan Santaromita, supported by the young Italian talent neo-pro Filippo Zaccanti, by the Japanese climber Hideto Nakane and by the best climber of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2018, Nicola Bagioli. To complete the line-up the young Spanish rider Joan Bou and the Japanese rider Ito Masakazu.

THE DECLARATION.

On the team car at Tour of The Alps the Sports Directors Mario Manzoni and Alessandro Donati. 

“We have selected a line-up with the right skills for mountains” declared Alessandro Donati, “The riders have been training in altitude for the last 2 weeks, because this race has big relevance for us. Damiano Cunego knows it very well, he already won both the general ranking and single stages. Ivan Santaromita will be the other leader, while Hideto Nakane, Filippo Zaccanti and Nicola Bagioli can be both important support and alternative to them. Ito Masakazu and Joan Bou will support the teammates and also free to attack in some stages. From the selected riders we expect a strong race and a winning mentality.” 

THE RACE.

5 hard stages, for climbers, with probably the hardest finish-line expected on the second stage in Alpe di Pampeago – Fiemme. 9 World Tour teams to the official start, with the Italian National Selection and the Italian Professional teams, plus some International Professional teams. The race will be broadcasted live on Eurosport 1 and Raisport starting from 2.00 pm.
